RevoSleep is such an excellent program on Windows 7 (64bit). But After I chnaged my OS to Windows 10, revoSleep doesn't work any more. I wish the developer fix this problem very soon. |

New version is already out. Have a look at the download page: http://revosleep.realspooky.de/
There is some new functionality. Unfortunately there is as always lack of time so it might be not that stable yet. At least it is compiled with the latest windows versions. |

wow, i thought it was dead! thanks for still putting work into it. unfortunately, for me it still does not work (windows 10 x64) - i tried the 0.3.0v,, and everything looks fine, no error messages (sleep and lock activated). the drive is not listed in explorer - but the disk still spins. am i missing something? |

Possibly these drives doesn't support the sleep command via their interface.

So my operating system is on a SSD with Win 10 Pro and I want to use this for a Western Digital Blue 6TB Hard Drive that I don't need to access very often - time and again, the drive spins back up for reasons unknown. While the drive is recognized with revosleep (0.30, 64 bit version), shutdown procedure doesn't work. The drive shuts down for a few seconds, then spins back up and revosleep produces the following error message:
Quote: |
Failed to deactivate device!
File D: WDC WD60EZRZ-00GZ5B1 Access is denied! Drive couldn't be deactivated. VetoName: SCSI\DiskVen_WDCProd_WD60EZRZ-00GZ5B1\426e761140050000. |
Any ideas? |

No, the system drive is the SSD, which is an Intel Optane and completely silent, so there's no need to put it to sleep. It's the HDD that spins back up time and again, even though there's no programs on there, just data storage. |

Does not work on Windows 10
It is the same symptom as the others.
When i run revosleep , There are no error messages
and Drive disappears from my computer
However, the hard disk spin does not stop
Windows 10 RS3 64-bit
when i run revoSleep 3.0 64x it will be exit immediately
So I used the Revo Sleep 86x version
This is not a hard disk problem
It is a working hard disk with revosleep in Windows 7 |

Exactly same problem just above with my secondary hard drive:
Toshiba DT01ACA300 3to (totally empty as I formatted it) :
Spindown for a semi-second then immediately spins again, no error messages and disk effectively no longer recognized by Windows.
setup:
Windows 10 x64 |

Hi,
Finally there is an update which should fix the issue with Windows 10. Unfortunately Microsoft introduces a new processing when deactivating a hard disk driver which causes to prevent hard disks staying in sleep mode. Now you can skip deactivating a hard disk in revoSleep. Please check https://revosleep.bboard.de/board/ftopic-84104086nx10681-100.html . |
