This utility worked perfectly in Windows 7. The hard disk never spins up unless instructed to by me.
In Windows 10, I have set the drive to Offline and made it Sleep (like Win7). But it never works as it used to. Doing tasks such as opening Task Manager, Adding New Bluetooth Device or some random IO function will spin up the hard disk. I have tried Process Monitor and ended up disabling many services, which I didn't had to in Win7. i have now given up and physically disconnected the drive.
My question is - has anyone managed to keep their connected drives spun down for more than 6 hours in Windows 10 as of October 2020? |

Unfortunately no. I am having the same problem (Win10 version 20H2). Eventually they all spin up again... usually within a few hours, and for no reason that I can discern. |

Yeah this program was a godsend or so i thought but the damn drives keep spinning up. Its only "cold storage" on them, no applications, no system restore, swap, AV... the obvious but it still spins up and one more than the other, tis crazy. Theres nothing but video on them. |
